Moving to Saskatoon and looking for friends for my 1 year old son and myself!

Hi Moms!

I am moving to Saskatoon from Victoria, BC at the end of June with my husband and one year old son. My husband is starting a new job and will be very busy so I am hoping to meet some moms and kids so I can get out of the house. I do not know anyone in Saskatoon so it's exciting and scary at the same time. We will be living in the South East corner of the City in Nutana Park so if anyone is nearby I would love to get together for coffee or a walk or other activity.

The sun is shining and we are off to Harold Tatler South Park at 9am this morning. We will meet by the playground and the more the merrier so come on out!

A couple of us are getting together tomorrow (Friday) at 9am at Harold Tatler South Park. We will be meeting at the playground and I have a red Mountain Buggy stroller so you can find us! If it is pouring with rain we will postpone but otherwise I hope we see you and your son there!

Okay, I give in! I (for obvious and very wet and electrifying reasons) am going to postpone my trip to the park with Christopher! Friday is supposed to be sunny again so I am going to plan for 9 am Friday morning. Hope you can join us!

Just so you know, the 'toon town mommies' group on Facebook seem to be organising a few things at the moment, so if any mommies haven't all ready joined them it might be a good idea.

I'm working Friday morning so won't be able to make it then. For indoor options if you're interested some time, there is the fun factory somewhere on Quebec avenue (google it for better info), there's the childrens library at Frances Morrison library downtown, there's a small play area near the food court in market mall and the childrens museum in market mall, tho I can't remember what time that opens (again google it for more!) We're Here!! Who wants to get together?

Hi Everyone,

We made it and are getting unpacked slowly! Christopher and I need to escape from the house and start exploring - does anyone want to join us? I found Harold Tatler Park South on the Saskatoon website and it looks pretty good with a paddling pool and playground. I was thinking of heading over there on Tuesday or Wednesday morning at about 9am. I figure that will give us time to play before it gets too hot (boy is the sun ever strong here!).

Drop me a line if either of those times work for you (or alternatives)

Well done, hope the move went well.

I am just recovering from bronchitis so I'm hoping to be back on form in a couple of days, and I'm off work Tuesday and Wednesday this week. So my 20 month old daughter and I may be able to make it. However, I won't promise just yet. We are still not in a great routine so it's difficult to say from one day to the next what times of day will work, but hopefully 9am or just after would be ok.

That sounds great girls! I can't wait to meet you. Diane have a good trip moving and let me know when you would like to excape from the kaos of the unpacking. I just moved in April and unpacked the last box yesterday. So I have lots of sympothy of the new house adventure. Will hear from you soon :

I would love to meet you, and your friends as well! We leave BC on Friday so it's pretty chaotic around my house right now. I will write again when we get to Saskatoon and then hopefully we can make a firm time to meet and choose a place as well. I will leave the park up to the Saskatoonites since I don't know anywhere yet!!

This is a great place for making friends. I moved here from the UK over 2 years ago. I joined saskatoon newcomers group and then when I had my baby 18 months ago, I made loads of mommy friends. Check out the leisure guide (it's on line) Once you start getting involved it just snowballs and you should get to know lots of people. You've chosen a great spot to live in. I'm in Avalon, not too far from where you'll be. I'm just about to go on holiday and then I'm going to be starting a new job so don't know what my schedule will be. But there's always time for coffee and playdates. Look up toon town mommies on Facebook and also saskatoonevents.com for things to do. Good luck with the move.

We have just move to Saskatoon from BC as well. Penticton. I live in the Brevoort Park area, so that is pretty close by. I have a 15 year old daughter 3 year old daughter and a 4 month old daughter. I have been here a little over a month now and still don't know anyone. Would love to meet you and mabe hang out at a park or go for a walk.

That sounds great! We arrive on the 28th of June, take possession of our home on the 29th then start unpacking so maybe we can find a park to meet at during the week of July 6th. I will have a very open schedule so let me know what your timeline is!

Hey Girls,

I was hoping I could come along for the playground outing. I have lived here my whole life and have a 6 month old son. I love getting out of the house with him and meeting new ppl.

I meet with two other moms (one has a 9 month girl and the other is pregnant and has a 20 month old boy) on a pretty regular basis and could see if they want to meet also.

If the weather is nice Kismin Park is fun to go to. Rides, the river, outdoor concestion,playground, the art gallery and a small pool (toddler size). But I could meet anywhere.

If you don't mind me tagging along please call me. I only get on the computer once a week if that.
